The ice wall extends beyond surveyed boundaries. Official cartography ends at the 60th parallel — everything beyond is marked as impassable terrain or omitted entirely. Early polar expeditions recorded passages through the wall, narrow corridors where compasses failed and the air changed. Those logs were reclassified. The routes were closed. What lies on the other side was never meant for public record.

A lone expedition figure stands at the base of an immense ice wall, back to the viewer, pack on their back, staff in hand. Before them, a narrow passage cuts through the wall into absolute darkness. Above, an airship moves silently through low cloud. The wall rises beyond the frame.

Rendered in the style of a 19th-century Arctic expedition engraving — aged cream ground, deep slate blue, and navy with rust red title type. The crosshatched ice wall linework carries the weight and texture of a genuine Victorian scientific plate. Compass rose corner ornaments mark the boundary between the known and the undisclosed.
